Planned Initiatives

In the spring, summer and fall of 2014, the CHR will implement a number of changes designed to streamline the submission and review process. The bulletin sent out May 2, 2014 includes details about the following already implemented changes:

  • Reducing the pre-review screening time by establishing minimum submission standards (implemented May, 2014)
  • Reducing the time permitted for responses from 60 days to 21 days for pre-review corrections (implemented May, 2014)
  • "Fast Track" review - skipping pre-review correction rounds for minor and administrative changes when possible (Pilot February-August, 2014)

Coming changes include:

  • Improving coordination between the committees and the research team (Pilot February-August, 2014)
  • Harmonizing screening stipulations across the CHR (May-September, 2014)
  • Developing a new social/behavioral research-specific study application (projected release August, 2014)
  • Revising question text and adding new Help content in the most frequently corrected sections (projected release September, 2014)
